I started Kaufmann Law Firm because I believe estate planning should feel less like paperwork and more like a conversation — one where you leave feeling clear, cared for, and genuinely prepared.

I'm based in Louisville, Colorado, and I work with individuals and families across the Front Range on wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and the harder conversations that go along with them: who do you trust to make decisions for you, what do you want for the people you love, and what happens if things don't go the way you planned.

How I work

Every person who sits across from me has the same inherent worth, regardless of the size of their estate or their background — that's the belief the whole practice is built on. In practice, that means I take the time to actually listen, so your plan reflects your life rather than a template. It means a careful eye for the gaps other plans miss — the beneficiary designation that contradicts the will, the power of attorney that doesn't cover the situation you actually end up in. And it means wanting you to understand your plan well enough to explain it to someone else, not just sign it.

I'm also a trained mediator, with a background in facilitation and nonviolent communication. That shows up in how I run meetings — especially for families navigating sensitive dynamics — and it's why I offer mediation as a second way I can help, whether or not an estate plan is involved.

A bit more about me

I live in Louisville with my wife and our two boxers. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, skiing, and cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones. I built this firm to do work I find genuinely meaningful — helping people plan ahead with clarity, care, and a healthy respect for everything that could go sideways.
